Truly Bespoke Kitchens Handmade in Cumbria UK

Beautiful, functional, solid wood kitchens, kitchen cabinets, and freestanding kitchen units, considered, designed, and handcrafted by our small team for today’s conscious living spaces.

Here at HOUT, our approach to both design and craftsmanship is highly client centric, every project is individual, fresh, free, and bound only by our commitment to use beautiful English solid hardwood and established principles of sustainability. Is your dream kitchen classic shaker style, high-end luxury, open plan fresh minimalist, or something entirely unique? Working together with you, we will conceive, design, and create, here in our Lake District workshop a ‘considered’ natural kitchen. From concept to creation, it will be a narration of your personal style, lifestyle, family ethos, needs, and even eccentricities. This is what we call truly bespoke.

As specialists in luxury kitchens in Cumbria, we work tirelessly and with true pleasure to produce work of the highest quality. Our handmade wooden kitchens are imbued with a quiet sense of purity and we are proud to say that commissions for custom made cabinets, freestanding kitchen units, beautifully fitted kitchens, bespoke walk-in pantry larders, and functional wooden islands, all receive the same exacting and dedicated attention to detail by our team.

A HOUT designer kitchen is an investment in living for now and for the future – Our kitchens start from £30,000.

Natural, timeless, and functional; HOUT kitchens are spaces to enjoy, gather, nourish, share, smile, and celebrate; the design and the creation are a journey – it just takes the first step…

The Windermere Elm Kitchen

This contemporary large open plan kitchen space works beautifully with a linear focus towards the Aga range cooker. The horizontal elm lines in the drawers, bespoke shelving and handmade hardwood wall panelling are soothing and create warmth.

The Lancaster Elm Kitchen

This kitchen, we felt, needed to be simple and fresh but warm. We added bookcases, shelving, lighting, storage, and a window seat to frame the garden. Everything was designed with careful consideration to use, flow, ergonomics, and available light.

The Greystoke Elm Kitchen

This hand-built kitchen is a celebration of the natural environment that surrounds the home. The couple are keen cooks and required plenty of space for the kitchen to be at once lively and active, whilst also peaceful and warm.

The Hampsfield Fell Elm Kitchen

This handmade kitchen and large kitchen island with solid wood elm slab breakfast bar is part of a modern open-plan home and we were mindful of proportion and aesthetics as the kitchen was open to both the dining area, drinks bar and a lounge.

The Cartmel Fell Ash Kitchen

This handcrafted, timeless kitchen was made from sustainable, honest materials. The curved ash kitchen cabinets are designed to fuse the dark treasures of an old traditional country cottage with the light modern lives of a young family. It sits comfortably within the open plan space that connects an informal family dining room with a busy kitchen.

The Lindale Elm Kitchen

This handmade contemporary cottage kitchen maximises function in a small space, whilst remaining sympathetic to the natural surrounding environment.
